I love Tory Burch. I think her designs are visionary! She makes trendy items that are still conservative enough for the office AND they come in the rare size 14 that is so difficult to find in designer goods. All designers should be women -- only women understand the needs of real women.

I agree, I think that now is definitely the time for an upswing in the middle market. In the last ten years the people who were in their twenties and thirties have grown to understand and appreciate fashion and demand design and quality. Those who are trading down from Marni and Chloe can now get decent quality from the middle market (Whistles, Reiss and even Hobbs have raised their game) while those who were fast fashion shoppers are looking for longer-lasting pieces that won't date. I never understand why people say that 'professional women often complain that they can't find clothing that is age- and role-appropriate' though, just look at the catwalk trends from the last two years - it's all tailored blazers, razor-sharp trousers, blouses, silk dresses and heels! How is that not grown-up and work-appropriate?!
