LOS ANGELES, United States — Fired American Apparel Inc. founder Dov Charney was ordered by a judge to muzzle his criticism of the struggling clothing retailer, at least temporarily.

Chancery Court Judge Andre Bouchard on Monday granted American Apparel’s request for a restraining order against Charney, kiboshing the former chief executive’s alleged scorched-earth campaign to win back control of the company he founded in 1998.
