LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

Sotheby's Appoints CEO and Chairman
Auction house Sotheby's has hired Tad Smith and Domenico De Sole to take over from William F. Ruprecht, who exited in November. Smith will succeed Ruprecht as chief executive officer and president, effective March 31, while De Sole has been appointed to chairman of the board. Smith, 49, was formerly president and CEO of entertainment company, Madison Square Garden. Domineco De Sole remains chairman of Tom Ford International, a role he has held since the company was founded in 2005.

Vedovotto Joins Kering Executive Committee
Kering has appointed Roberto Vedovotto to its executive committee, with immediate effect. Vedovotto, who has been with Kering just under two years, leads the group's eyewear division, which is currently building an in-house eyewear platform for its luxury, sport and lifestyle brands. Formerly CEO of Safilo Group, Vedovotto's appointment comes as eyewear continues to be a major growth driver for the group.

Refinery29 Names Fashion Director
New York-based media company Refinery29 has named Paula Goldstein Di Principe as fashion director. Goldstein Di Principe, who is the creative director and founder of Voyage D'Etudes, was most recently site director at Purple.fr. Previously, she oversaw digital development at Dazed & Confused. In a related move, Anne-Marie Guarnieri will become deputy editor of fashion, beauty and shopping. Guarnieri was previously editor-in-chief of xoVain.com, and senior editor at Allure magazine.

Selfridges' Senior Buying Promotions

Boss Myhr, who joined the British luxury department store in 2012 as buying manager for women's designer-wear, has been named director of menswear and technology, reporting to Sebastian Mane, buying and merchandising director. In addition, Eleanor Robinson has been tapped as head of accessories buying, having previously held the title of buying manager for menswear. Robinson will report to Judd Crane, director of womenswear and accessories.

Laird + Partners Announces New Hires
Branding agency Laird + Partners has tapped Manuel Frei as executive creative director, and Mike Karam as head of digital and integrated strategy, both newly created roles. Frei will report to Trey Laird, chief creative officer, while Karam will report to Jennifer O'Brien, vice president and director of strategic planning. Most recently, Frei was chief creative officer and brand director at Bally. Karam joins from 360i, where he was group strategy director.
