LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

J. Crew Hires Head of Women's Design
Somsack Sikhounmuong, formerly head of design at Madewell, is taking over as head of women's design at J. Crew, effective immediately. The appointment is part of a human resources shake-up at the American retailer, which is in the process of eliminating over 170 jobs. Sikhounmuong succeeds Tom Mora, who held the role for four years. Sikhounmuong's role at Madewell is to be filled by Joyce Lee, who has been a member of the company's senior design team for seven years.

Global Brands Appoints President
Global Brands Group has tapped Jason Weisenfeld as the new president of Seven Global, the group's new joint venture with David Beckham and Simon Fuller. Weisenfeld is credited with playing an instrumental role in the launch of Net-a-Porter and Victoria Beckham. Previously, he has worked for Coach Inc. and Versace.

Paule Ka Names Creative Director
After one year without a creative director, Paule Ka has appointed Alithia Spuri-Zampetti to the role. The French fashion brand has been without a creative director since the departure in July 2014 of Serge Cajfinger, who founded the company in 1987. Spuri-Zampetti comes from Lanvin, where she was head designer of women's ready-to-wear.
