LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

Net-a-Porter Names President

Alison Loehnis has been appointed president of The Net-a-Porter Group. The October 5th announcement came on the same day the Net-a-Porter/Yoox Group started trading on the Milan stock exchange — one month after the company's founder and former chief executive, Natalie Massenet's resigned. Loehnis joined Net-a-Porter in 2007 as vice president of sales, before she was promoted to president of Net-a-Porter in 2011. She previously worked as a sales and marketing director at Thomas Pink. As president of The Net-a-Porter Group, Loehnis will be responsible for Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter, the Outnet and Porter Magazine.

Balenciaga Appoints Artistic Director

Balenciaga has named Demna Gvasalia its new artistic director, effective immediately. Gvasalia, who succeeds Alexander Wang, previously worked at Louis Vuitton and Maison Martin Margiela, and is currently head designer at Vetements, a Paris-based collective of seven anonymous designers. He will continue in his position at the collective, while assuming all creative responsibilities at Balenciaga — he is due to show his first collection in the Autumn/Winter 2016 season next March.

Burberry Names Chief People Officer and Chief Information Officer

Burberry has named Fumbi Chima as chief information officer and Leanne Wood as chief people and corporate affairs officer. Chima, who currently works as corporative vice-president and chief information officer at Walmart Asia, will join Burberry in November, to head the technology division and oversee technology-platform upgrades. W00d, who previously worked at Diageo as group human resources director, will oversee human resources and corporate affairs for the brand.

Joel Horowitz Exits DVF

Joel Horowitz has stepped down as co-chairman of Diane von Furstenberg Studio, a position he had held since August 2012. Prior to joining DVF, Horowitz worked at Tommy Hilfiger Inc. where he oversaw the completion of its IPO in 1992. Horowitz is credited with selecting DVF's first chief executive, Paolo Riva. His successor is yet been appointed.

Marissa Webb exits Banana Republic

Marissa Webb has stepped down as creative director and executive vice president of Banana Republic. She was tasked with reinventing and re-energising the brand when she joined in April 2014. Prior to joining the company, which is owned by Gap Inc., Webb spent 10 years working for J. Crew. Stepping down from day-to-day responsibilities, Webb will remain on at the brand in a creative advisory role and will focus on her own label. Her position will not be filled.

Kay Krill Steps Down at Ann Inc.

Kay Krill has resigned as chief executive of Ann Inc., which included the Ann Taylor, Loft and Lou & Grey brands. Kray joined the company in 2001 as president of the Loft brand, before becoming president of Ann Taylor Stores Corporation in 2004, where she was promoted to president and chief executive of Ann Inc. in 2005. Gary Muto, who currently serves as president of Ann brands, will succeed Krill. Krill leaves to join parent company Ascena Retail Group's board of directors.

Douglas Wood Appointed Tommy Bahama CEO

Tommy Bahama has named Douglas Wood chief executive, effective January 30th 2016. He will succeed existing chief executive Terry Pillow when he retires at the end of the company's fiscal year. Wood originally joined the company in 2001 as chief operating officer, before being promoted to president in 2008. As chief executive, he hopes to push the brand's expansion into womenswear, although it was originally a menswear brand. Wood previously worked at AT&T Wireless, McCaw Cellular and the Boeing Space Program. Pillow will remain at the company in an advisory position.

A.L.C. Names CEO

A.L.C has appointed Jonathan Saven as chief executive, effective October 5th. Before joining the LA-based contemporary line, Saven had worked at Splendid and Ella Moss, as chief financial officer and chief operating officer, where he was promoted to president in 2009. In 2014, Saven joined brand development agency Yellow Bus Brands as president and managing partner. His hire comes shortly after Interluxe's purchase of a majority stake in the company, which is planning to expand.
