Alexi Lubomirski

Photographer

He has become the industry’s de-facto celebrity photographer with his work appearing in American Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.

Biography

Alexi Lubomirski is becoming one of the industry’s leading celebrity photographers, having shot a number of Hollywood stars — Selena Gomez , Margot Robbie, Angelina Jolie and Lupita Nyong’o — for publications including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle. He rose to fame in 2018 after taking Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex’s, official engagement and wedding photographs.

Born in the UK to a Peruvian and English mother and a Polish and French father, Lubomirski was raised in Botswana. His interest in photography began when his stepfather gave him a camera aged 11 and developed further during a gap year at college in Peru. While studying a degree at Brighton University, his photography interest shifted from social commentary to fashion .

He became Mario Testino’s assistant in Paris and towards the end of his four years, Katie Grand selected him to shoot for Face magazine and Harper’s Bazaar US.

Since then, Lubomirski has amassed a roster of clients, including Harper’s Bazaar, GQ, Allure and international editions of Vogue. After Mario Testino was accused of sexual exploitation in a New York Times investigation, Lubomirski’s career was supercharged as he became the industry’s de facto celebrity photographer. He has photographed Hollywood celebrities and artists from Beyoncé to Nicole Kidman and worked with models like Claudia Schiffer and Amber Valetta.

Lubomirski held his first exhibition, titled “Transit,” at Milk gallery in New York in 2008. He has also published two books, a photography book “Decade” highlighting the best of his fashion work, and “Princely Advice for a Happy Life” for his two sons. In 2016, he released his second exhibition and photography book called “Diverse Beauty,” which highlights beauty beyond the ideal that is presented to us in fashion magazines and campaigns. All proceeds from his books are donated to the charity Concern Worldwide, of which Lubomirski is an ambassador.

He lives in New York with his wife and two sons.
