Since having been discovered in London Primark in 2006, British model Jourdan Dunn has secured some of the most prominent castings within the industry, walking for luxury brands such as Bottega Veneta, Giambattista Valli, Emilio Pucci and Oscar de la Renta and also became the first model of colour since Naomi Campbell to walk for Prada in 2008. The young model has also featured in advertising campaigns for Burberry, Rag & Bone and Topshop and in 2012 was named as the face of singer Rihanna’s capsule collection for River Island. Dunn also walked the catwalk alongside fellow British models as part of the 2012 celebrations of the London Olympics.
Having been signed up to Storm Model Management by Sarah Doukas , the legendary agent who previously scouted Kate Moss , Dunn marked her catwalk debut in 2007 for designers such as Polo Ralph Lauren and Marc Jacobs . Securing a feature in British Vogue soon after as a ‘rising star’, Dunn was further listed as one of the top ten newcomers by influential website Style.com and in 2008 landed the covers of over four different magazines in one month and take part in the iconic Steven Meisel all-black cover shoot for Vogue Italia. Dunn was also named as “Model of the Year" at the British Fashion Awards and walked in over 60 runway shows for the Spring/Summer 2009 season.
Dunn continues to be an established face in the modelling industry, having walked for the likes of Burberry, Balmain and Off-White in 2018 and 2019. She also appeared in campaigns for Thierry Mugler, Solid & Striped and Brandon Maxwell and was named one of the "New Supers" by models.com.
She has also featured in editorials for magazines such as Dazed & Confused, i-D, Pop, Net-a-Porter's The Edit and T magazine, as well as over 50 magazine covers including Elle UK, Wonderland and American Vogue. Based in London and New York, Dunn enjoys cooking in her spare time and has developed her hobby into a web series for Youtube.
