Julia Nobis

Model

The star of Dior and Céline campaigns and former medical student is one of Australia's most famous high-fashion faces.

Biography

Julia Nobis has come to represent a new generation of models. In 2018, she was cast in campaigns for Calvin Klein , Versace and Tffany & Co. In previous years, the model has fronted campaigns for Celine, Dior, Marc Jacobs , Lanvin, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton.

Nobis' industry debut was as a Calvin Klein exclusive during February 2010's New York Fashion week. That season she walked for Louis Vuitton, Prada, Miu Miu, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana and Maison Martin Margiela. She has since walked for every major house, opening for Valentino, Proenza Schouler, Alexander McQueen and Dries Van Noten , among many more, as well as appearing on the Chanel couture catwalk. Nobis has regularly walked between 60 and 70 shows in fashion week.

Her success soon transferred into editorial. Nobis first appeared on the cover of Vogue Australia in May 2011. She has since appeared on the cover of Italian Vogue three times, i-D, Numéro, The New York Times T Magazine and W Korea. In addition, the model has appeared in editorials for British Vogue, Vogue Italia, i-D and Love

Nobis is studying a Bachelor of Science and Applied Science through Melbourne's RMIT and she intends to become an ER doctor. "Modelling never was my end goal," she said. "I get paid to study basically. I get paid better than your average uni student, that's for sure. I kind of fell into modelling and stuck with it."
