Biography

Maria Prata is a fashion television host for Globo News, a news channel owned by Rede Globo, Latin America’s largest TV network. As the voice and face of fashion in her native Brazil, Prata has risen fast in the past year, making her programme a must-watch.

Maria graduated from the London College of Fashion , specialising in fashion. Impressively precocious, Prata was appointed the position of fashion editor at Vogue Brasil at the age of 25. 

Prior to her current position, Prata also served as the editorial director of Harper’s Bazaar Brazil and channel editor-in-chief for Fashion TV at Turner, where she grew subscribers from 900,000 viewers to over three million.

Today, she hosts Mundo S/A and is a guest reviewer on Conta Corrente and Estudio I. Through television, Prata is actively bridging the gap between Latin America and the global stage of fashion.

She is married to fellow Brazilian TV presenter and producer Pedro Bial.
