Tommy Perse

Owner, Maxfield

The owner of the cult retailer was one of the first Angelenos to stock fashion-forward designers like Yohji Yamamoto.

Biography

Since founding luxury Los Angeles-based concept boutique Maxfield, founder and creative director Tommy Perse has gained international renown for his chic and avant garde aesthetic, represented through hand-picked edits of luxury apparel, rare art books, vintage luggage and real human skulls.

Launched the store in the early 70’s, Perse pioneered brands such as Giorgio Armani , Yohji Yamamoto and Comme des Garçons in the Californian state, earning instant acclaim and a cult following from discerning local shoppers. The store currently offers high-end labels such as Rick Owens , Sacai, Gucci and Saint Laurent alongside jewellery, watches, furniture and books. The store is regularly frequented by high-profile personalities.

Initially launched in West Hollywood, Perse has since founded a second boutique on Melrose Avenue and another in Malibu.
