Job Description

Responsible to:

Creative Director or Lead Interior Designer


  • Responsible for a project team (typically consisting of other designers, FF&E and furniture designer)
  • Lead and develop projects and to inspire project teams to ensure that an initial concept is developed, detailed and successfully delivered through to the final stages on time and on budget
  • Generate and contribute to new business
  • Involvement in every stage of a project and be the main point of for the client
  • Manage and mentor specific team members.  Support the Creative Director/Lead Interior Designer in team management generally

Role and Responsibilities:

New Business

  • Recognise and develop new business opportunities with new or existing clients
  • Inspire and engage internal teams and clients
  • Orchestrate pitches and proposals through effective leadership and facilitation
  • Act as an ambassador for the company ‘brand’; continually striving to raise the company profile within the industry

Creative Thinking

  • Generate and develop concepts that provide an original, appropriate and effective solution to the creative brief
  • Develop own thinking through liaison with David Collins
  • Win the confidence of the client and internal team by creating a clearly defined direction to pursue

Creative Conceptualisation

  • Articulate an idea to both an internal and external audience
  • Present and sell concepts and design solutions to client

Detail Design or Planning & Scoping

  • Develop and prepare scheme designs
  • Communicate effectively with key team members and client on a regular basis
  • Detail, design, prepare and present all furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E) requirements
  • Schedule and communicate all costs and specifications internally and externally
  • Co-ordinate workload, ensuring that all stages of the project are delivered with clarity on time and on budget


  • Co-ordinate and liaise with contractors, sub-contractors, local authorities and all other relevant personnel
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, tender documentation and licensing drawings
  • Attend and chair client meetings, provide minutes/contact report to all attendees
  • Ensure quality control through regular site visits and record progress


  • Ensure that final project delivery runs smoothly and that all FF&E and styling requirements are delivered on brief
  • Ensure client relationship is maintained and developed

  • 6 - 10 years of working in interior design, preferably on bespoke projects
  • A good understanding of current trends and experience of working in at least three key interior markets/sectors (residential, retail, restaurant or hotel).


  • Degree or equivalent in interior design or architecture
