Kingston University

London, United Kingdom

Located south-west of London in Kingston-upon-Thames, Kingston University offers fashion design programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The courses are taught at the Knights Park campus at the university’s faculty for art, design and architecture. According to our survey, students are very satisfied with university resources including the library and study materials. Another strongpoint is the availability and application of innovative technology and IT, combined with the excellent technical skills of faculty members. Students ranked their teachers highly, but identified poor marketing, business and sustainability content in the curriculum. Careers services were deemed above average and 86 percent of students found employment in the industry within six months after graduating.

Student & Alumni Comments

"Impeccable teaching from tutors who really care and want to help develop you to the best of your potential. Industry links are unrivalled with many well-paid international internships on offer."

Alumni

"Studying at Kingston was a great challenge and a real learning curve! Kingston University really prepared me for working in the fashion industry."

Alumni

"It has been a thorough education and a very challenging course which helps to prepare students for the challenges of the reality of the industry, because of its industry focussed curriculum, alongside excellent and supportive teaching staff and brilliant facilities — particularly for knit."

Alumni

"Overall I would describe it as a good experience as I made the most of using the staff/ prestige of the school to make industry connections which led on to me receiving a number of different job offers after I left Kingston. The course is well structured and organised and I'm extremely happy I chose Kingston as the standard of my work is down to the quality of the teaching I received. The downsides are lack of space/ workrooms and the quality of the campus buildings."

Alumni

"Perfect balance between creativity and commerciality."
