Chinese model Liu Wen boasts a resumé listing a series of industry firsts, marking her as one of the most successful Asian models in the industry. Along with becoming the first Asian model to appear in campaigns for Estée Lauder and to walk as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, Wen has also walked a record 74 shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris for the Autumn/Winter 2009 season, followed by 70 for Spring/Summer 2010, making her the second most-booked catwalk model that year. Dubbed as "China’s first bona fide supermodel" by The New York Times in 2012, Wen has been ranked third in a list of the industry’s ‘Top 50 Models’ compiled by models.com and was also ranked 5th on Forbes’s list of top earning models in 2013.
Wen started her modelling career in 2005 as a contestant in the New Silk Road World Model Contest. Although she initially just wanted to win the grand prize – a computer – Wen quickly landed full-time work with features in publications such Vogue China and Harper’s Bazaar. In September 2007, having caught the eye of international stylists and casting directors, she was signed to Parisian modelling agency Marilyn. Wen debuted on international fashion week catwalks in 2008, walking for Burberry, Trussardi, Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier. Liu has since walked in shows for Tom Ford, Proenza Schouler and Hugo Boss, and has also fronted campaigns for the likes of Tory Burch, Lane Crawford, Roberto Cavalli and Tiffany’s.
Wen has landed covers for influential publications such as T magazine, i-D, Lula, WWD and Vogue Portugal along with several editions of Vogue China. The in-demand model has also featured in several editorials for Harper’s Bazaar, Dazed & Confused, Vogue Australia and French Vogue.
