Marc Jacobs: A Conversation with Robert Duffy (Port Magazine)
"Ask any creative person trying to make a living from design or art what the hardest part of their working life is and they'll probably tell you it's the business side of the company that keeps them awake at night...  So it must have been a relief for Marc Jacobs when he, 28 years ago, met and befriended Robert Duffy."

Mulberry shares tumble on profit warning (FT)
"Shares in Mulberry, the luxury handbag maker, fell by more than a quarter on Tuesday morning after it said annual pre-tax profit would decline after it stopped selling to less glitzy stores and was hit by cautious wholesale buying in Asia."

Shopping Under the Stars (IHT)
"For the French department store Galeries Lafayette, this great upturned bowl of glass merits the much-used title 'iconic.' For it has been a symbol of Art Nouveau architecture and of a new age of pleasure purchasing for 100 years. To celebrate the dome's centenary, the flagship store on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris has unveiled a 21st-century façade: a luminous cocoon of lighting using the dome as its matrix."

As brands become publishers, are they getting their content right? (Guardian)
"As the shift towards brands becoming publishers gathers pace, so the role of content to drive social media conversations and SEO becomes even more important. Some of the successful brands today – just look at the rise and rise of Asos – recognise that the way to take centre ground in the lives of their customers is through great content, ie 'owned' media, and not advertising."

Jack Wills axe sister store Aubin & Wills (Telegraph)
"The Jack Wills group has announced that it is to fold its sister label, Aubin & Wills, shortly after the Christmas period. The global rollout of Jack Wills has meant that the Aubin & Wills estate will not be expanded and that its 12 stores will cease trading by the end of the year."
