Zara owner Inditex grabs new customers to grow H1 profit 32 pct (Reuters)
"The world's largest clothing retailer, Zara owner Inditex, posted a 32 percent jump in first-half year profit on Wednesday, taking market share in its home market Spain and grabbing new customers online and in emerging markets."

Burberry stops handbag production in Chinese factory in ethics row (Guardian)
"British-owned luxury goods manufacturer Burberry has pulled production of its bags from a factory in the Guangdong Province of China. The move follows concerns that working hours and conditions at the factory, operated by the Korean company Simone Accessories Collection, were in possible violation of Burberry's ethical guidelines."

Chanel ordered to pay £161,000 in counterfeiting case (Telegraph)
"Chanel has been ordered to pay a former knitwear supplier, World Tricot, £161,000 (€200,000) by the Paris Court of Appeal.  The ruling is the latest twist in an ongoing legal battle between the two companies."
