Mario Testino interview: the man who makes models super (Observer)
"At 57, the world's most prolific magazine photographer is just getting started. It's only 15 years, after all, since his career exploded in the wake of his 1997 Vanity Fair shoot with Diana, Princess of Wales. In 2010 he shot the engagement photos of Wills and Kate, and it's entirely conceivable that, should the time come, he'll photograph their children's engagement portraits."

LVMH faces dilemma of success (FT)
"LVMH owns more than 60 brands but it is heavily reliant on the high profit-margin Louis Vuitton, which accounted for 30 per cent of group sales last year, according to Mintel, the consumer research company. The group itself does not break out figures for Vuitton from the rest of the fashion and leather goods division, which last year generated half of LVMH's sales and profits."

Coach Loses Luster With Coupons Cited in Quest for Share (Bloomberg)
"Wall Street is hedging its bets on Coach Inc. as the largest U.S. luxury handbag maker's once- stellar growth falters. Coach's fiscal first-quarter earnings report tomorrow may show that adjusted per-share profit growth slowed to about 3.4 percent from 16 percent a year earlier, according to the average of 28 analysts' estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Sales growth may ease to 10 percent from 15 percent, analysts project."

Top fashion chiefs urge Vince Cable to revive UK factories (This is Money)
"Top fashion executives have held talks with Business Secretary Vince Cable in an attempt to secure Government support for reviving Britain's clothing manufacturing industry."

Why designers should think like bakers (Globe & Mail)
"To sit down with Dries Van Noten after one of his fashion shows is to encounter a designer whose perfectionism tends to get the better of him. 'I don't focus on the things that went well,' he confesses within hours of his recent spring/summer 2013 presentation in Paris."
