MILAN, Italy — Thanks to Giambattista Valli for reacquainting us with some true gems of Milanese interiors. The Giamba show today happened inside the sumptuous interiors of Palazzo Litta, all brocade walls and gilded stuccos. A strange fit for Valli's naughtier, younger line, but one that perfectly fits the designer's modus operandi.

Valli likes the contrast of highbrow and lowbrow, of luxury and trash more than anything else. Thereafter, he sent a wonderfully hot and sultry army of lolitas down the room of the palazzo, clad in slinky minidresses, skintight pants and coats made of patchworks of distressed brocades. It upped the sex ante, adding a charming fallen noblesse undertone.
