MILAN, Italy — Multiculturalism has aways been at the core of the Etro ethos. The label has managed to keep a bit of wandering hippie spirit through its evolutions over the decades. Veronica Etro's mission, now, is to make it all relevant for the moment, bringing Etro's own sense of opulence and sophistication closer to the street.
She is very stubborn in this plan and she is succeeding: her recent collections have benefited from a healthy dose of editing and realism. The collection she presented today was an iteration of the formula. It was all about caftans, sliced this way and that, subtle athleticsn and a dash of motorbike aggressiveness. Nothing groundbreaking, but well made.
