220 Students Given Access ‘Inside LVMH’

Today, a unique talent initiative gives the most promising international students the chance to discover the range of career opportunities at LVMH, as well as an awareness of the challenges that face the luxury sector today.

PARIS, France — Today, in its maisons and the Frank Gehry designed Fondation Louis Vuitton on the outskirts of Paris, the LVMH group will host 220 students for a unique talent initiative.

"Inside LVMH" aims to give the most promising students the chance to discover the range of career opportunities at the world's largest luxury group from within — which operates 70 brands including Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Givenchy — while building awareness and understanding of the challenges that face the luxury sector today.

The attending students were selected from 21 leading design, business and engineering schools that have partnered with LVMH. Applicants were judged on the basis of video submissions outlining their vision of “innovation in the luxury sector,” filmed either in a travelling video booth set up on school campuses or on a dedicated digital platform. From over 1,000 submissions, LVMH selected just 220 students to attend the event.

The itinerary of the day will follow the same theme as its selection process. In addition to masterclasses with senior executives from LVMH, managers from 16 LVMH maisons will host talks throughout the morning, enabling students to discover all five sectors of the LVMH eco-system including wine and spirits, perfumes and cosmetics, jewellery, selective retailing and fashion and leather goods within small, intimate groups.

Each of the 16 participating maisons will host activities and programmes on the same theme — "the future of tradition and the capacity for continuing innovation" — from the perspective of their own business models. Christian Dior Couture, for instance, will outline the distinct processes that go into producing its men's collections, Berluti will discuss building an international brand, Sephora will examine the challenges of client experience 2.0 while Chaumet will explain how they developed and positioned a new jewellery range.

Chantal Gaemperle, group executive vice president of human resources and synergies, and a member of the LVMH executive committee, will introduce a work session at the LVMH headquarters, to be followed by a masterclass with chairman and chief executive Bernard Arnault. The day will be concluded by a tour of the exhibition Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection.

The aim of this unprecedented initiative is to enable the brightest students to understand the world of luxury from within, while providing them the tools and ambition to envision its future as a potential member of LVMH’s 130,000-strong team.
