LONDON, United Kingdom — Emmanuel Gintzburger will replace Jonathan Akeroyd as chief executive officer of Alexander McQueen, the brand and its parent company, Kering, have announced. Akeroyd, who spent 12 years as CEO of the brand, is departing to "pursue other interests outside of the group," according to a statement.

Gintzburger, who previously served as retail and wholesale director at Yves Saint Laurent and has spent 17 years in the luxury and cosmetics industries, will take up the role from May 9 and report to Grita Loebsack, Kering's chief executive officer of its luxury couture and leather goods emerging brands, which include Balenciaga, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen.

Prior to joining Yves Saint Laurent, Gintzburger, 42, held roles at Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Sephora and Danone. At McQueen, his focus will be accelerating the brand’s global expansion.
