PARIS, France — French couturier Jean-Louis Scherrer died this morning at the age of 78. The designer worked with Yves Saint Laurent at Christian Dior and launched his own label in 1962. Jackie Kennedy was amongst his clients.
Scherrer had been suffering from a long illness, which became worse and required hospitalisation in recent months.
Though the house no longer produces haute couture or ready-to-wear collections, French group JSB International, which acquired the brand in 2011, is developing its other licenses, including watches.
