LONDON, United Kingdom — "I wanted to have a go at having my own brand — that was my goal," designer James Long told BoF in his East London studio. Now regarded as one of the leading lights of British menswear, the designer founded his eponymous brand before LC:M, when there were few menswear designers showing on the catwalks and the London showrooms were yet to be established. Today, the James Long brand is stocked in Browns, Harvey Nichols, H Lorenzo and a number of other influential international retailers. For the launch of BoF Education, the award-winning designer shares his journey and the five lessons that have led to his success.
