NEW YORK, United States — These days, savvy shoppers can find cheap jeans everywhere by heading to fast-fashion stores, waiting for flash sales or digging through clearance racks. But finding a pair for just one cent? That's just too good to be true.

It seems like it was just that for a few Lucky Brand shoppers who snapped up jeans for a penny each on Tuesday after the company messed up an online promotional code.

Many of Lucky's designs sell for around $100 to $130 but, by plugging in the code "VDAYCNTST," online shoppers could purchase two pairs of jeans for two cents— quite the markdown. The company quickly pulled the deal, but not after plenty of shoppers had placed orders for the mega-discounted denim.

A representative for Lucky did not respond to a request for comment, but the jean seller appears to have cancelled the orders, with many customers angry that the company reneged on its sale. A customer service worker told Distractify's Myka Fox that the code was not approved by Lucky and that corporate was investigating the situation. Fox was told that Lucky planned to cancel all orders— hers likely included.

Still, it has to contend with plenty of irate customers.
