Power Moves | Bergdorf Goodman Names President, Harrods Chief Merchant Exits

This week, Neiman Marcus Group hires Darcy Penick as president of Bergdorf Goodman, while Helen David departs Harrods after 10 years at the retailer.

LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

Neiman Marcus Group appoints Bergdorf Goodman president
Darcy Penick has been named president of Bergdorf Goodman, beginning her role on September 4. Penick will report directly to Neiman Marcus Group chief executive Geoffroy van Raemdonck. She joins the company from Shopbop, a subsidiary of Amazon, where she was chief executive.

Harrods chief merchant exits
Harrods' chief merchant Helen David is departing after 10 years at the company. Since joining the company in 2008 she has held a number of roles, including fashion director of womenswear, accessories, fine jewellery and childrenswear. A replacement has not yet been named.

Prada announces departure of two company veterans.
After 21 years at Prada, strategic marketing director Stefano Cantino has exited the company. He joined in 1991 and has held a number of roles in the Prada Group. Marketing director Aldo Gotti, who joined the group in 1990, has also departed.

Ferragamo Group hires CMO
The Ferragamo Group has appointed Riccardo Vannetti as chief marketing officer. Throughout his career Vannetti has held managerial positions at Condé Nast, Value Retail and Core-Capital Equity Fund, and, most recently, he was tutorship division director at Pitti Immagine. He will join the group on July 5.

i-D announces fashion team appointments
Carlos Nazario has been appointed senior fashion editor, while Ibrahim Kamara has been appointed fashion editor at large at i-D. They will report to fashion director Alastair McKimm.

VF Corp announces leadership positions at The North Face and Smartwool
VF Corp has named Travis Campbell as vice president and general manager of The North Face, Americas. Campbell most recently served as president of Smartwool. Jennifer McLaren will succeed him in the position.

Spotify hires former Condé Nast executive as its CCO
Spotify has hired Dawn Ostroff as its chief content officer. Ostroff previously served as president of entertainment at Condé Nast, where she helped establish the publisher's video business. She will work in the Swedish company's New York office from August 1.

SMCP appoints general counsel
Erwan Le Meur has been named general counsel of SMCP, leading the company's in-house legal function. Le Meur previously served as general counsel at Showroomprivé.com and, before that, worked at Amazon for six years.
