LONDON, United Kingdom — Twenty years after starting his design career, Roland Mouret will return to the UK to present his label's Autumn/Winter 2017 collection during London Fashion Week. He staged his first show under his own name there in 2000 and has been presenting in Paris for the last ten years.

“I love that London is my creative home and over half my manufacturing base is in Britain – I wouldn’t be able to do what I do anywhere else other than London,” said Mouret. “London is my home, it’s where my brand has its heart and I’m excited to celebrate such an important milestone here.” The Spring/Summer 2018 show will also be presented in London.

Known for his figure-flattering womenswear collections, the French-born designer’s dresses are a favourite on the red carpet with the Hollywood and political set, who made his Galaxy dress ubiquitous when it debuted in 2005.

Today, the label is available by wholesale at almost 200 stockists around the world, at Mouret’s retail flagships in London, New York and Dubai, and at RolandMouret.com, which relaunched in 2014. According to the brand, turnover increased by 24 percent and 22 percent in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

“We’ve had an exceptional response to our separates categories, which we see as a reflection of the broader trends across the industry,” said chief executive Mark Langthorne, adding that separates now represent over 40 percent of the sales. “Our existing wholesale channels, alongside the expansion of retail into the US and Dubai, and the relaunch and exponential growth of our digital arm are the main factors driving the business forward.”

The Roland Mouret brand is a joint venture between the designer and Simon Fuller’s XIX entertainment. At the height of his initial fame in 2005, Mouret resigned from his first eponymous label, of which he had no ownership, due to creative disagreements with the investors. Mouret partnered with Fuller one year later and bought back the rights to his name in 2010.
