Condé Nast Names CEO
Robert A. Sauerberg will become chief executive officer of Condé Nast in January 2016. Sauerberg, who became president of Condé Nast in 2010, has been driving the media company's efforts to develop a digital strategy to offset declines in print revenues. He succeeds Charles H. Townsend, Condé Nast's chief executive since 2004, who will become chairman of Condé Nast US.
Asics CEO Retires
Kevin Wulff, chief executive officer and president of Asics America Group, will retire from the company he has led since August 2010. Gene McCarthy, who worked for 21 years for Nike in sales and management, will take over as chief executive on October 1. Previously, McCarthy was president of Merrell and senior vice president of Under Armour.
Jaeger CEO Exits
Colin Henry has stepped down as chief executive of Jaeger, only two years into his five-year turnaround strategy. The announcement comes a few months after the company's chairman Peter Williams announced his resignation. Henry previously served as chief product officer at Esprit.
Vionnet Appoints Chalayan to RTW
Hussein Chalayan has joined Vionnet's ready-to-wear creative team, while continuing to produce his own namesake line. He reports to creative director and owner Goga Ashkenazi, who purchased the aristocratic French house in 2012. Chalayan's appointment comes as the company prepares to open its new flagship in Paris this month.
Style.com Names Social Media Manager
Jamel Derdour has joined Style.com as social media manager. Deride was previously social media manager at Jack Wills. Prior to that, he was digital and social marketing coordinator at Topman.
British GQ Appoints Style Columnist
British GQ has appointed v-logger Jim Chapman as style columnist. Earlier this year, Chapman ranked in the top 20 of GQ's annual best-dressed men and has over 2.4 million subscribers to his YouTube channel and over 1.5 million followers on both Instagram and Twitter. Chapman's first column for GQ will be published in the magazine's October issue.
