Power Moves | Jean Patou's New CEO, Hearst Names Cosmopolitan Editor-in-Chief

This week, LVMH names Sophie Brocart as chief executive of Jean Patou, while Jessica Pels is appointed editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan.

LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

LVMH appoints Jean Patou CEO
Sophie Brocart has been named chief executive of Jean Patou. Brocart joins the company from Nicholas Kirkwood, where she held the position of chief executive since 2015. She has also been the mentor-in-chief of young talent within the LVMH orbit, notably guiding the winners the LVMH Prize — a role she will continue to hold.

Cosmopolitan names editor-in-chief
Cosmopolitan has promoted Jessica Pels from editor of Cosmopolitan's e-zine to editor-in-chief of the magazine. The move is part of a mass restructuring at Hearst, with over 40 jobs affected. Pels is taking over from Cosmopolitan's previous editor-in-chief, Michele Promaulayko.

Jil Sander taps CEO
Jil Sander has promoted Axel Keller from the role of commercial director to chief executive. Keller joined Jil Sander in February from Balenciaga, where he was commercial director for 15 years. He succeeds Alessandra Bettari, who was appointed chief executive in 2016.

Teen Vogue announces editor-in-chief
Lindsay Peoples Wagner will join Teen Vogue as editor-in-chief, a role last held by Elaine Welteroth until she left Condé Nast in January. Peoples Wagner was previously The Cut's fashion editor since 2015. In her new role, she will oversee digital, social, video and events including the Teen Vogue Summit.

Selfridges makes promotions to senior management
Selfridges has made several promotions to its senior management. Paul Kelly, currently the managing director of Selfridges Group, will take up the position as managing director of Wittington Property Investments in the UK and Europe. Anne Pitcher will succeed Kelly as managing director of Selfridges Group, while Simon Forster will step into Pitcher's former role as managing director of the retailer in the UK.

The Fédération de la haute couture et de la Mode names executive in charge of Paris show calendar
Elena Carrettoni has been named the executive to manage the catwalk calendars of the Paris runway seasons by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. Carrettoni first joined the Fédération in 2007, rising through the ranks to her new position.
