Moda Operandi names COO
Moda Operandi has appointed Fred Santarpia chief operating officer, effective January 20. Santarpia joins the company from Condé Nast, where he was chief digital officer. He reports to Moda Operandi Chief Executive Ganesh Srivats in his new role.
Valentino taps CCO from Fendi
Valentino has hired Marco Giacometti to fill the newly created role of chief commercial officer, effective April 2020. He joins the house from Fendi, where he most recently served as president of the Asia-Pacific region. Giacometti will report to
Stefano Sassi, Valentino’s chief executive.
Tapestry announces executive hires
Liz Fraser, currently president of New York-based brand Lafayette 148, has been named chief executive and president of Kate Spade. She is expected to join March 1, replacing Tapestry Chief Financial Officer Joanne Crevoiserat, who has held the role since December 2019.
The group has also promoted Giorgio Sarné, currently president, Tapestry Asia and president and CEO,
Coach Asia, to chief executive and brand president of
Stuart Weitzman. Sarné will replace Eraldo Poletto, who is stepping down March 1, 2020.
Yann Bozec, currently president, Tapestry China and president and chief executive of Coach China will be promoted to president, Tapestry Asia Pacific, while continuing as president and chief executive of Coach China.
LVMH names hospitality executive
Andrea Guerra has been named chief executive of LVMH Hospitality Excellence, a new division comprising Hôtels Cheval Blanc and Belmond Hotels & Luxury Trains, effective March 16, 2020. Guerra joins the LVMH group from Italian food marketplace Eataly, where he was executive chairman since October 2015.
Olivier Theyskens named creative director of Azzaro
Olivier Theyskens has been tapped to helm Azzaro’s creative direction, with his first collection for the brand to debut during Haute Couture Week in July 2020. Theyskens, who will continue to run his namesake line, served as creative director of Theory until 2014. He replaces Maxime Simoëns, who exited Azzaro in March 2019, after two years in the role.
Elle names fashion director
Elle has hired stylist Alex White as fashion director, effective February 10. She replaces Joann Pailey, fashion and market director, who joined Altuzarra in November 2019 as head of content and marketing, and reports to Elle Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia in her new role.
Tiger of Sweden names design director
Tiger of Sweden has promoted Head of Menswear Design Bryan Conway to design director, effective February 3. Conway, who first joined the company in May 2019, previously held senior menswear design roles at
JW Anderson and
Burberry.
Under Armour names COO, CXO amid c-suite changes
Under Armour has appointed Chief Supply Chain Officer Colin Browne to chief operating officer and Paul Fipps, previously chief digital officer, to the newly created role of chief experience officer. Both appointments take effect February 17, with Browne and Fipps reporting to President and Chief Executive Patrik Frisk.
Kohl’s adds to board of directors
Retailer Kohl’s has appointed Yael Cosset as its twelfth board member, effective February 2. Cosset, who is senior vice president, chief information officer at Kroger, will initially sit on the board’s governance and nominating committee.
