Dennis Freedman Leaves Barneys
Barneys New York has announced the departure of its creative director, Dennis Freedman, who will be leaving the company to pursue new opportunities. During his tenure at Barneys, Freedman, who was the founding creative director of W Magazine, partnered with photographers Juergen Teller, Bruce Weber, Inez and Vinoodh and others on creative campaigns.
Ralph Lauren Executive Appointments
Ralph Lauren has hired two new senior executives as part of its "Way Forward" turnaround plan. Jonathan Bottomley has been appointed to the newly created role of chief marketing officer. He hails from Vice Media, where he worked as chief strategy officer of Virtue.
Additionally, Tom Mendenhall has been hired as brand president for men's Polo, Purple Label and Double RL, also a newly created role within the company. Before Ralph Lauren, he was chief operating officer at Tom Ford International.
Reiss Appoints CEO
Reiss has named Christos Angelides as chief executive officer. Angelides brings over 30 years multi-channel retail experience to the company including 28 years at Next. Most recently, he served as president of Abercrombie and Fitch based in the US.
Jacqui Kavanagh Joins Refinery29
Refinery29 has appointed Jacqui Kavanagh as lead European sales division. Kavanagh joins the company with extensive experience in developing commercial operations at companies like Vice Media and i-D. Most recently, she was commercial director of Condé Nast Video.
StyleWatch Names Editor-in-Chief
Bethany Heitman has been hired as editor-in-chief of StyleWatch, effective immediately. Heitman joined the brand as executive editor in 2014 and has been serving as interim editor at the brand since late last year. Before joining StyleWatch, she held senior roles at Seventeen and Cosmopolitan.
