Power Moves | Vanity Fair Names Beauty Director, Lazada Announces New CEO

This week, Vanity Fair appoints its new beauty director, while Alibaba-owned Lazada group names its new chief executive.

LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

Vanity Fair names beauty director
Vanity fair has appointed Laura Regensdorf, former senior beauty editor at Vogue, as beauty director. Regensdorf starts with immediate effect, replacing SunHee Grinnell. She reports to editor-in-chief Radhika Jones, but will continue to serve as a contributor at Vogue.

Lazada Group announces CEO
Southeast Asian e-commerce group Lazada has appointed Pierre Poignant to replace Lucy Peng as chief executive, effective immediately. Poignant was previously executive president of the company and Peng, who also co-founded Lazada owner Alibaba, will stay on as executive chairwoman.

Avon appoints CFO
Avon named Gustavo Arnal as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective spring 2019. Arnal joins the company from Walgreens Boots Alliance, where he served as senior vice president, chief financial officer of international divisions and global functions.

Tory Burch appoints Pierre-Yves Roussel CEO
Pierre-Yves Roussel, former chairman and chief executive of LVMH Fashion Group, has been appointed chief executive of Tory Burch, effective early 2019. Tory Burch, founder of her namesake brand, will step down as chief executive and assume the title executive chairman and chief creative officer.

Moda Operandi taps fashion buying and e-commerce lead
Puja Clarke has been appointed senior vice president of buying and e-commerce at Moda Operandi. Clarke was previously general manager of global merchandise and e-commerce at Tesla and will work with fashion directors Lisa Aiken and Josh Peskowitz in her new role.

Salvatore Ferragamo names CFO
Salvatore Ferragamo has appointed its former chief strategy officer Alessandro Corsi as chief financial officer, replacing Ugo Giorcelli as of January 11, 2019.

Ralph Lauren appoints senior PR director
Lauren Astry Sorensen has been named senior director of global public relations for all women's brands at Ralph Lauren. Sorensen joins the company from Carolina Herrera, where she was vice president of global marketing and communications. She reports to senior vice president of global public relations and brand communications Ryan Lally.

Karl Lagerfeld names accessories design lead
Karl Lagerfeld has appointed Nicolas Baurain to oversee the design of bags and small leather goods, a role previously assumed by an external designer. Baurain previously founded his own namesake accessories brand, which will be put on hold in light of his new appointment.

Maison Kitsuné taps Celine creative head
Maison Kitsuné has appointed Yuni Ahn as creative director, a role that was previously assumed by co-founders Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki. Ahn joins the company from Celine, where she served as design director.

Poiret creative director to step down
Womenswear label Poiret announced earlier this week the departure of creative director Yiqing Yin. A replacement has not yet been named.
