Power Moves | Alexander McQueen Hires Americas President, Prabal Gurung Named Tasaki Creative Director

This week, Alexander McQueen appoints Stacy Van Praagh as president for the Americas, while Japanese jewellery house Tasaki taps Prabal Gurung as its new creative director.

LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

Alexander McQueen hires president for the Americas
Alexander McQueen has appointed Stacy Van Praagh as president for the Americas. Van Praagh — who has worked at Chanel, Oscar de la Renta and Fendi and runs her own consultancy firm — brings 20 years' experience to the role. She succeeds Liz Radler, who has exited the Kering Group.

Prabal Gurung appointed Tasaki creative director
Japanese jewellery house Tasaki has tapped Prabal Gurung as its new creative director. As part of his role, Gurung will design the newly launched line Tasaki Atelier, which debuted during his New York Fashion Week show on September 10. The line will be available in stores from February next year.

Nina Garcia succeeds Robbie Myers at Elle
Hearst Magazines confirmed Tuesday that Roberta "Robbie" Myers, editor-in-chief of the American edition of Elle magazine, will be stepping down from the role after 17 years at the helm. Nina Garcia, currently creative director at Marie Claire, will succeed her on September 18, and will report to Joanna Coles, chief content officer at Hearst Magazines.

Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive to Exit
Cindi Leive will resign from her role as editor-in-chief of Glamour US after 16 years at the helm. A representative for Condé Nast said a successor has not yet been named and will likely not come immediately. Leive will stay on at the publication until the end of the year. She has not yet confirmed her next move.

Sylvie Colin named Kenzo CEO
LVMH has tapped former Maje chief executive Sylvie Colin to lead Kenzo. She succeeds Eric Marechalle, who confirmed he was leaving the brand in July — he begins his role as chief executive of Marc Jacobs next month. Colin will join the company on September 25, reporting directly to LVMH chairman and chief executive Pierre-Yves Roussel.

Ally Capellino hires CEO and chairman
British accessories label Ally Capellino has named Caroline Attwood as chief executive. James McArthur will also join the company as chairman. Attwood and McArthur will work alongside founder and creative director Alison Lloyd to accelerate the brand's international growth.
