LONDON, United Kingdom -- Dazed & Confused, the influential style magazine founded 20 years ago, has named Robbie Spencer its new fashion director, starting with the July 2013 issue. Previously, Spencer was senior fashion editor at the title, which he joined in 2005, making a name for himself styling boundary-breaking menswear stories for Dazed. He has also styled shoots for Vogue Italia, V and The Wall Street Journal Magazine, and worked as a consultant for brands including Armani, McQ, Mihara Yasuhiro, Loewe, Topman, Burberry and Levi's.

The announcement reflects the rise of a new generation of fashion talent to the front guard of London's fashion establishment. A confessed blogaholic with his own blog, Spencer's youth and ease navigating the worlds of print and digital inform an aesthetic described as "youthful and enthusiastic" by Jefferson Hack, founder and editorial director of Dazed Group.

On the subject of today’s appointment Hack told BoF: “Robbie will bring a new chapter to the evolution of Dazed by nurturing the next generation of new talent as well as re-imagining the output of some of the best names in international fashion. As a digital native, Robbie will also engineer unique synergies between print and digital platforms reinforcing Dazed Group as one of the UK's most digital forward content platforms for fashion and style.”
