Agenda-setting intelligence, analysis and advice for the global fashion community.
LONDON, United Kingdom — This month we celebrate a very special milestone here at BoF, the one-year anniversary of BoF China, the leading authoritative voice on the fashion business in the Chinese language, including all BoF's special sections, from BoF Fashion Week to the BoF 500.
Over the last year, our BoF China team — split between Shanghai and London — has diligently been bringing BoF's analytical and opinionated global reporting to our readers in China, along with on-the-ground analysis of the Chinese market and local issues important to our growing base of Chinese readers.
Today, this analysis is more important than ever as, according to a recent report by Bain & Company for Altagamma, the Greater China region is struggling to deliver organic growth, forcing luxury and fashion brands to rethink their strategies, rationalise their retail positions and compete for market share.
Still, while China only accounts for seven percent of the personal luxury goods market, Chinese consumers still drive 33 percent of global purchases in what the Bain report calls "The Great Mall of China," underscoring the rapid maturation of the Chinese consumer.

I want to congratulate our China team — Robb Young, Queennie Yang and Tian-wei Zhang — on all their hard work.
