Power Moves | Belstaff Hires CEO and Chairman, Stephen Gan Joins Elle

This week, Belstaff names Helen Wright as its new chief executive and Robin Hutson as non-executive Chairman, while Stephen Gan leaves Harper's Bazaar for Elle.

LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

Belstaff hires CEO and chairman
Belstaff has appointed Helen Wright as its new chief executive. Wright, who has worked at a number of luxury brands including Anya Hindmarch, Fendi and Ralph Lauren, succeeds Gavin Haig. In addition, former Soho House chairman Robin Hutson has been named non-executive Chairman, while Sarah Doukas, founder of model agency Storm Management, has been appointed to the board of directors. The new appointments follow the British brand's recent acquisition by INEOS in November.

Elle names Stephen Gan creative director
Stephen Gan has been appointed as creative director at Elle US, effective immediately. He joins the title from Harper's Bazaar, where he served as creative director for more than 15 years; he also helms V magazine, which he founded in 1999, and VMan, which launched in 2003. Gan will report directly to Nina Garcia, who succeeded Robbie Myers as editor-in-chief last September.

Neiman Marcus names CEO
Karen Katz, Neiman Marcus Group president and chief executive, will retire on February 12 after 30 years at the company. Geoffroy van Raemdonck will succeed her as chief executive. Katz will remain on the board of directors, and will work with Van Raemdonck to ensure a smooth transition.

Glamour appoints editor-in-chief
Glamour US has named Samantha Barry as Cindi Leive's successor. Barry, who is currently head of social media at CNN, will join the magazine on January 15. As editor-in-chief she will oversee the Glamour brand, content and consumer experiences.

Saks president's leadership role expands
Hudson's Bay Company has expanded the role of Sak Fifth Avenue president Marc Metrick to include Gilt and Saks Off 5th. Jonathan Greller, current president of Saks Off 5th and Gilt, will leave the HBC effective January 12.
