Power Moves | Gabriele Hackworthy Joins Jimmy Choo, Valentino Hires CMO

This week, Jimmy Choo taps Net-a-Porter's Gabriele Hackworthy for a new SVP global brand marketing and communications role, while Valentino hires Isabelle Harvie-Watt as its chief marketing officer.

LONDON, United Kingdom — BoF compiles the most important professional moves of the week.

Jimmy Choo names global brand marketing SVP
Gabriele Hackworthy is joining Jimmy Choo as senior vice president global brand marketing and communications at the end of April. Currently global editorial fashion director at Net-a-Porter, she will work closely with Sandra Choi on fashion content to support the brand expansion and report directly to chief executive Pierre Denis.

Valentino hires CMO
Valentino has tapped Isabelle Harvie-Watt as its new chief marketing officer. Harvie-Watt joins the house from Spring Studios, where she served as a managing partner; prior to that she spent five years as chief executive and country manager of Havas Media Group. She will join the business on April 16.

Billy Reid hires CEO, COO
American designer Billy Reid has appointed a chief executive and a chief operations officer, BoF can exclusively reveal. Mark Daley has taken up the CEO position, joining the brand from Smythson, while former vice president of Savannah College of Art and Design John Paul Rowan will resume the role of COO. The appointments mark a new phase for the company as it looks to amplify the brand, overhaul its digital presence and revamp its store and wholesale network.

Roger Vivier's Bruno Frisoni Steps Down
Roger Vivier's longtime creative director Bruno Frisoni will be leaving the company after 16 years. His final collection for the brand will be presented during Paris Fashion Week this month.

HBC names CEO
Hudson's Bay Company has appointed Helena Foulkes as the department store chain's new chief executive. She joins from CVS Health, where she served as executive vice president of CVS Health and president of CVS Pharmacy. Interim CEO Richard Baker, who stepped up following Jerry Storch's exit in October 2017, will continue as company governor and executive chairman.

Avon appoints CEO
Cosmetics company Avon has named Jan Zijderveld as Sheri McCoy's successor, effective immediately. Zijderveld joins from Unilever, where he served for 30 years, most recently as a member of the executive committee and president of the company's $14 billion European division.

Hearst names global VP
Duncan Chater has been promoted to global vice president, Hearst Magazines digital media global. Currently chief brand officer at Hearst UK, he will begin his new role in March, overseeing marketing and digital advertising revenue for Hearst outside the US. He will succeed Tracy Yaverbaun, who is leaving the company.

Net-a-Porter appoints buying director
Net-a-Porter has named Nayla Touma as buying director. She joins the e-commerce company from Bergdorf Goodman, where she is currently division merchandise manager for footwear. Starting her role in April, she will report to global buying director Elizabeth von der Goltz.

WSJ's Off Duty appoints fashion director
Off Duty has announced Rory Satran, formerly editorial director at i-D magazine, has joined the publication as fashion director. In addition, Off Duty's fashion market director Rebecca Malinsky has been promoted to deputy fashion director.

Teen Vogue names executive editor
Samhita Mukhopadhyay has been appointed as executive editor at Teen Vogue, where she will oversee the editorial team. The title has also promoted Ella Ceron, formerly West Coast and evenings editor, to deputy editor.
