Power Moves | Lanvin Names Deputy General Manager, Alibaba Shakes up Management

Theory executive Siddhartha Shukla will join France’s oldest couture house, as Alibaba replaced its long-standing CFO and shuffled its commerce leadership.

Lanvin taps Theory executive Siddhartha Shukla as deputy general manager. France’s oldest couture house has named Siddhartha Shukla, Theory’s chief marketing officer and chief merchant, to be its new deputy general manager. Shukla will report to the brand’s chairwoman Joann Cheng and work alongside Grace Zhao, deputy general manager for Asia.

Alibaba shakes up management with CFO, commerce heads reshuffle. The Chinese e-commerce giant’s deputy CFO Toby Xu is set to replace its long-standing chief financial officer, Maggie Wu, along with leadership changes in its commerce businesses. The moves mark Alibaba’s most notable management changes since surviving a bruising antitrust investigation.

Fossil Group names senior vice president, general manager, Fossil Brand. Former Neiman Marcus executive Melissa Lowenkron will be responsible for brand strategy, product design and marketing in the newly-created position. In turn, Steve Evans, executive vice president and chief brand officer, will focus on Fossil Group’s other owned and licensed brands, which include Diesel, Emporio Armani, DKNY and Puma.

StockX names Robin Washington to the board of directors as audit committee chair. The former chief financial officer of Gilead Sciences will advise StockX as the company continues to expand internationally and diversify its catalogue.

Former Burberry chief design officer joins LF Corp. Luc Goidadin will serve as the creative director of LF Daks, the South Korean fashion retailer’s luxury brand as it looks to restructure and elevate the label, according to The Korea Herald.

Ted Baker chairman John Barton dies at 77. Helena Feltham, the brand’s senior independent director, will take on the role of interim chairman with immediate effect.

Belstaff names Jodie Harrison global brand director. The former chief membership officer at Soho House and editorial director at Mr Porter will oversee content and art direction as well as paid marketing, brand and wholesale partnerships and social media in the newly-created role at the British clothing brand.

Ardith Singh joins Bandit as co-founder and chief design officer. The former senior vice president of design at Bandier will help the Brooklyn-based running start-up — which put product releases on pause a year after its founding — target growth and elevate its events, media and product offering. While at Bandier, Singh led the activewear brand’s fashion collaborations and created its private label.
