London

Our London office is located in Old Street, London's tech hub, home to a broad range of teams including Commercial, Marketing, and Product. We have large open plan spaces and a feature staircase connecting our 3 floors, encouraging our collaborative and open culture. We also have a big outdoor terrace where we can have lunch and host social events when the sun comes out!

The watches Category Manager is responsible for the long-term vision of the watch category, as well as the growth, trading, and visibility of the category daily across the Farfetch ecosystem. We are looking for a commercially minded strategic thinker, who is confident with managing complicated cross-functional projects and influencing change across senior stakeholders, both internal and external.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a complicated, cross-functional category across internal stakeholders (covering technology, operations, commercial and marketing workstreams)
  • Build and maintain outstanding client relationships through effective communications, reporting and problem-solving
  • Discuss product assortment & positioningwith watches supply partners (including Browns)
  • Buying & merchandising planning within watches
  • Pricing analysis
  • Point-of-view on watches trend-setters & best-sellers
  • P&L responsibility for the category, accountable for its success
  • Regional view of success levers in key watches markets
  • Ongoing integrated marketing plan to optimise trading performance
  • Appetite to coordinate 360 marketing campaign around new product launches
  • Champion of Farfetch's unique watch positioning
  • Collaborate closely with the Private Client (VIP) team
  • Support personal stylists globally through category & brand trainings
  • Contribute to elevating the Private Client segment through facilitating high-value transactions and money-can't-buy experiences
  • Pitch Farfetch Private Client proposal to brands
  • Travel to key trade fairs such as BaselWorld & SIHH and coordinate on-site meetings
  • Support on critical projects like building a 5-year strategic supply plan - categories, channels, partners, assortment, etc.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Planning & Analytics function to ensure business decisions and processes are underpinned with data insights
  • Champion the critical bridge between art and science in the Commercial team


Who you are:

  • Luxury sector experience (imperatively within watches) including a competent understanding of the watches market (new, certified pre-owned, and grey), players, and dynamics - please do not apply unless you have been a watches buyer, merchandiser, designer, category manager, business leader or other related role within the watches space
  • Experience within consulting and/or strong planning and organisational skills; expertise to manage and improve complex projects
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Strategic thinker with an emphasis on operational excellence
  • Commercially minded - strong focus on business development and growth with ability to work towards metrics and targets
  • Client-focused ability to pitch Farfetch to prospective brand clients & sell the dream of what partnering with Farfetch looks like
  • Project management experience, preferably in technology / digital / e-commerce
  • Strong stakeholder management - ability to influence senior characters internally and externally
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, comfortable with ambiguity
  • Additional languages, particularly French, a big advantage
