About the role

Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Strategy, the Director ofOmni Channel Experience Strategy is responsible for creating the vision andidentifying the key capabilities to deliver the long-range plan for Old Navyfor all markets and channels, including stores, ecommerce and digital, incollaboration with key stakeholders. The Director works closely with keystakeholders including; Marketing, Customer Insights, Innovation, Stores, OldNavy Online, and the Old Navy Leadership Team. Omnichannel strategy encompasseseverything from reimagining today's 4-wall operating model all the way throughto defining and prioritizing critical digital and store capabilities forlong-term investment.

What you'll do

  • Drive the development of Old Navy's long-term omnichannel strategic plan, including overseeing quantitative and qualitative analyses (e.g., market and competitor assessments, financial performance analysis, customer journey mapping etc.) and leading and partnering with cross-functional business partners. Examples of activities:
    • Be a thought leader, in partnership with cross functional leadership across Old Navy, to determine the long-range priorities for omnichannel based on internal assessment and priorities, competitive benchmarking, and customer insights
    • Liaise with business partners, proactively identifying and communicating business issues, brand priorities and sharing best practices
    • Identify key issues, structure ambiguous problems, and develop workplans to drive insights
    • Synthesize findings, structure presentations, and communicate action items and recommendations to senior management and cross functional leadership team to drive alignment
    • Provide leadership, direction and facilitate execution & implementation of strategic initiatives


  • Lead efforts to drive insights and build knowledge of key market, competitor, and customer dynamics. Examples of initiatives:

    • Analyze competitor omnichannel strategies and performance to identify threats/opportunities
    • Scope and implement consumer insights projects/analyze consumer insights data to test hypotheses and identify actionable opportunities for Old Navy
    • Analyze emerging and potentially disruptive technologies and operating models and envision how Old Navy might leverage them to create a sustained competitive advantage


Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience,MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of professional work experience,preferably within digital, retail, consumer products, or strategic managementconsulting
  • Demonstrated track record as anoutstanding problem-solver and strategic thinker
    • Able to quickly identify key issuesand develop hypotheses
    • Able to work in and bring structureto ambiguous environments
    • Very deep understanding of how tolink strategy to financial plans / business cases
    • Able to synthesize disperseinformation into effective strategies and innovative insights, translatingcomplex ideas into simple, actionable recommendations and compelling stories
    • Very strong written and oralcommunicator with proven ability to communicate with senior executives
  • Strong retail business acumen
    • Demonstrated understanding of retailand consumer-facing businesses
    • Able to assess impact of decisionson overall business
  • Excellent interpersonal and peopleleadership skills
    • Able to collaborate effectivelyusing broad range of influence styles to drive desired results
    • Proven experience in leading teams includingproviding direction, understanding resource capability and successfully drivingresults working with internal or external resources
    • Strong executive presence andcommand skills
    • Able to identify barriers tosuccessful implementation and capable of working with teams/leaders to mitigatebarriers
    • Approaches conflicts asopportunities; understands others quickly; can find common ground withoutcomprising total position
  • Very strong project and processmanagement skills, including ability to independently disaggregate problemsinto defined workplans
  • Able to effectively juggle multipleprojects at one time
  • Demonstrated initiative and abilityto work independently and to manage cross-functional business partners who arenot direct line reports
