About the role

The Inventory/Allocation Planner drives the creation, management and execution of allocation strategies and inventory plans that support the financial goals and product strategies for their area of responsibility. The Planner will serve as a lead to Planning Analysts to provide training support and serve as a liaison to cross functional partners and the buying team.

Pre-Season

• Create seasonal Inventory allocation strategies that support the Investment review strategy, develop contingency plans to offset inventory risks
• Run Size Selling for prior season; use learnings to explain recommendations for new size profiles
• Set up Size Profiles for future season at the hierarchy and attribute level using learnings from previous seasons; analyze and review size profiles with Buying Team
• Validate size models and attach size profiles in Global Assort for area of responsibility
• Size and Pack purchase orders using packing strategy learnings from previous seasons; work closely with cross functional teams on any area specific packing strategies

In-Season

• Identify and support VMI/Basics product plans in line with style/class level allocation and financial forecasts, partner with Buying Team to allocate 13-week Demand Forecast
• Identifies, prioritizes and communicates store inventory callouts, DC capacity constraints, or other business issues in a timely manner
• Drive forecast accuracy, track receipt projections, and in-season allocation strategies to maximize opportunities and mitigate risk.
• Manage initial and replenishment allocation to support product and financial strategy; validate flow timing and store distros with Buying Team
• Validate department inventory sales forecast by ensuring stores on hand inventory does not fall below target; communicate issues to the cross functional teams
• Collaborate with the cross functional team to align on investment quantities and flow forecasts
• Frequently assess and recommend strategy adjustments to cross functional team and leadership
• Inform the cross functional team on inventory health that supports the commercial plan
• Drive additional ad-hoc reporting as needed to assess business and to assist in driving solutions for entire Canada market

Training

• Build out trainings to on board new Analyst team members; schedule training sessions with new Analyst
• Work one on one with new team members to get them up to speed
• Be available for questions and tutorials; serve as the allocation SME for Canada market
• Maintain Best Practices FAQ/Training Guide for both tools and processes for team members to utilize

Leading Analyst partners

• Conduct bi-weekly staff meeting with Analyst team; align on weekly deliverables and priorities
• Share any high-level process or tool changes; provide trainings of best practices with Analyst team
• Attend leadership meetings on an as needed basis to inform leaders of Analyst priorities
• Serve as the liaison between Canada Analysts, logistics and cross functional partners; help to trouble shoot obstacles for the entire Canada market
• Create a collaborative, innovative and results-orientated environment

Who you are

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 2-4 years' work experience, preferred
• Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math
• Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
• Influencing & Negotiation: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action
• Systems and Tools Acumen: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
• Collaboration: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
