The Buyer will be responsible for merchandising a cohesive assortment reflective of the Carolina Herrera brand vision to drive sales, margin, turn and growth for the retail business. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Vice President as necessary. 

  • Support the VP Retail in the development and execution of the OTB and seasonal strategy
  • Adeptly analyze business results weekly, monthly, and quarterly:
    • Provide structured dialogue based on current sales trends to validate or dispute sales forecasts.
    • Execute insightful weekly selling recaps and best seller reports to optimize sales and minimize risks
    • Adjust budget reflow during monthly OTB process
    • Execute purchases according to procurement plan
  • Lead the retail team during market seasons through scheduling, preparation, order processes, maintaining data integrity and monitoring OTB positions
  • Provide in depth trainings to store associates on styling clients and wardrobing more to increase UPTs
  • Partner with Retail Operations to monitor and regulate deliveries, sales performance, markdowns and inventory levels via transfers, allocations, and/or consolidations.
  • Responsible for all day to day departmental tasks to support retail stores
  • Partner with Visual Merchandiser to ensure merchandising strategies support product initiatives
  • Partner with Merchandising on product and pricing recommendations
  • Shop competition to monitor fashion trends, pricing strategies and presentation techniques
  • Work effectively with retail stores, corporate partners and foster constructive and cooperative working relationships among all parties
  • Strategically brainstorm and partner with GMs to customize product assortments
  • Partner with merchandising & GMS to create Retail exclusive pieces seasonally
  • Defend overages versus procurement plan driven by specific category opportunities
  • Continuously work on improving product trainings in partnership with other departments
  • Plan with Visual Merchandising & Marketing to ensure top investments are communicated in sync across all platforms
  • Regularly note upcoming designers in the market place and incorporate into feedback for merchandising
  • Organize seasonal Trunk Shows with stores
  • Partner with Marketing Team to provide relevant quantifiable goals prior to selling events (to guarantee profitable events)
  • Manage Farfetch Business:
    • Manage online assortment to maximize selling
    • Coordinate all seasonal photoshoots and styling to reflect creative vision and a clear brand perspective
    • Upload all product information inclusive of style, color, pricing, material composition, copy and sizing structure
    • Spearhead all markdowns to reflect in store strategy
    • Partner with boutique operations to fulfill all orders from a strategic standpoint
    • Work with Farfetch personal shoppers to provide excellent customer service to top clients which include exclusive product and opportunities
    • Communicate weekly with the Farfetch Team to be ahead of all business trends and selling opportunities
  • Inventory Management:
    • Strategically shift product between stores to maintain healthy sell thrus and maximize sales
  • Partner with wholesale to transfer product based on best sellers and to accommodate client needs to maximize sales
  • Review best sellers by season with wholesale to manage seasonal markdowns and carryover product
  • Ecommerce strategy:
    • Launch ecommerce
    • Tailor assortment to online client needs
