The role:

Manages tax operations function, monitors taxes generated on sales platform, provides guidance for any tax related questions or issues, and oversees the collection and payment of taxes and filing of reports. Independently solves unique and complex issues related to this tax function.

What you’ll do:   

  • You will assist in managing tax functions including GST, sales/use, withholding, property, Form-1099 System, annual reports, etc.  
  • You will monitor indirect taxes and reviews tax returns prepared by outside consultant for each applicable state   
  • You will interpret various taxes, e.g., sales/use tax, excise, etc. and advise the procedures to be followed  
  • You will research tax issues that arise in the day-to-day course of business   
  • You will oversee the payments and all documentation related to tax administration matters and as mandated by the IRS and state and local taxing authorities    
  • You will prepare and maintains the required tax department calendars by researching and collecting appropriate data to accurately reflect essential information    
  • You will assist in overseeing all outside non-income tax audits, including sales and use tax, excise tax, property tax, GST, etc    
  • You will assist with research assignments and drafting technical documentation  
  • You will assist other group members with professional work and providing support where required
  • You will manage monthly compliance assurance by supporting tax returns preparation from data extraction to reconciliation
  • You will monitor workflows and keep tax related documentation updated  
  • You will assist with various administrative tasks as required
  • You prepare responses to information document requests issued by the IRS and state and city taxing authorities  
  • You will participate in projects by researching, modeling, analyzing and communicating the tax implications resulting from new businesses, business expansion, changes in tax laws, or changes and improvements in reporting requirements    
  • You will document and manage policies, procedures and controls for the Tax function   
  • You will lead the development of operational solutions based on partner requirements and support Partner Success Team with complex technical solutions   
  • You will take ownership of process configuration and monitoring them until completion, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, and debugging of tax systems    
  • You will identify ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial or tax systems and emerging technologies 
  • You will consolidate tax data to make analysis and planning more efficient   
  • You will improve reporting capabilities to enhance the ability to evaluate risk and capitalize on opportunities
