The role

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to be part of Farfetch's Engineering Team. You will be responsible for leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers working towards specific company goals. You will be working in a very friendly and relaxed environment and be part of a well-motivated, talented and growing team. What You'll Do

  • Coordinate team management, monitoring, reporting and timely project execution for your team;
  • Actively participate in the training and building skills of the developers on your team;
  • Support the development of software applications for backoffice or website infrastructures;
  • Stay up to speed with all backend and web technologies, software architecture principles and design patterns;
  • Manage phasing of every sprint your team is working on;
  • Have an understanding of the full development lifecycle with emphasis on software quality processes.


Who you are

  • A leader well versed in team management with a focus on the continuous development of your team;
  • An evangelist of software development best practices;
  • Experienced working with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, ...);
  • An excellent team player and with exquisite communication skills;
  • Skilled in problem solving and with a proactive attitude;
  • Seasoned in terms of team dynamics and conflict resolution;
  • Experience with event-driven systems, functional programming, fraud prevention/detection systems and Java and/or Kotlin are not required but nice to have.

Responsible for leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, assuring the collaboration across different engineering teams/offices and engaging with the teamĀ“s product owner into building a backlog.
