Master Patternmaker

As the Master Pattermaker, you will be responsible for the construct of master fabric patterns and
layouts.

Some of what you’ll do:
• Responsible for interpreting Design concepts into garments through draping or flat
patternmaking, determining appropriate garment construction method according to the fabric
and styling.
• Responsible for Block Development for all categories and size ranges and ensure size and fit
consistency within the Brand and across product categories.
• Participate in fit review and utilize technical expertise by offering suggestions to improve fit and
resolve technical issues.
• Effectively communicate fit intent, balance and construction to vendors and make corrections
on submitted patterns via electronic patterns and emails.
• Identify and proactively engage business partners when potential production, quality and
costing issues arise with recommendations for viable options/solutions to ensure Brand
integrity.
• Travel to overseas factories to train and ensure that requested corrections are properly
implemented.

Some of what you’ll need
• At least 5 years experience with luxury outerwear brand and general knowledge of other
sportswear such as; cut and sew knits; wovens and accessories.
• Expertise in patternmaking, grading, construction and fit for outerwear and casual sportswear.
• Knowledge of construction standards and manufacturing methods.
• Ability to communicate and give technical direction to non English speaking business partners
(samplehands/ cutter/ factory technicians).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task and be flexible.
• Ability to proactively trouble shoot and problem solve.
• Experience with Accumark Gerber PDS an asset.
