We are looking for a seasoned Product Marketer for our Merchant Insights product offering. The Insights team builds data models, metrics, analytic dashboards and interactive reports that are delivered to merchants in a timely manner so they can make smarter data informed business decisions. We know that merchants new and old, large and small with varying data literacy struggle to understand, access, and discover relevant analytics. 

Your role on the team will include infusing market insights into product strategy. You will develop and execute a comprehensive go to market strategy and maximise the potential opportunity we have to enable them to make smarter data driven business decisions. You will also build powerful narratives, education material, demonstrations, and other applicable assets.

You have a passion for analytics, are data-driven, can create and execute innovative education and marketing assets. You can define a global vision for growth, and strategically position new and existing products.

Responsibilities:

  • Defining and executing the go to market and growth strategies that drive merchant adoption and continued merchant success
  • Build messaging, relevant assets including education material to enable successful product introductions and migrations
  • Develop the narrative and positioning that differentiates Shopify’s Insights strategy as it relates within the competitive landscape.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment through product development and creatively execute the go to market process, tracking success metrics accordingly.
  • Quarterback communication to internal stakeholders on product introductions and migrations
  • Help build holistic strategy and influence the products we’re building through market analysis, competitive research and partner/merchant feedback
  • Identify KPIs, set targets, and report against and analyze the results of product launches.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in  product marketing or a product role with analytic products.
  • Understand how merchants experience analytics; in retail settings and in e-commerce.
  • Track record of increasing engagement of data/ analytic products, and identifying the most effective channels.
  • Be a self starter, curious to understand the competitive landscape and be able to understand and communicate why our metrics might differ from others in the landscape.
  • Have a good track record of optimizing  marketing activities, messaging, and rollout of analytics products and features.
  • Demonstrated impact in defining and executing complex go to market strategies.
  • Experience building out “full product offerings” including webinars, guides, in-app messaging, product videos, educational resources, and product demos.
  • The ability to thrive in chaos, resolve ambiguity and think quickly on your feet.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Experience marketing B2B and B2B2C SaaS products.
  • A resourceful attitude and negotiation skills - you'll be working with a lot of different teams across Shopify and external partners.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience with Big Data technology products
  • Pragmatic marketing certification
