Our Product Experience team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to help our customers find products they love and buy products they keep.

Being a fashion ecommerce customer has many advantages - browse on the go, shop from the comfort of your home, free and convenient delivery and returns, and a sheer endless assortment. But the paradox of choice and the inability to really see, touch, and try on a product before buying also creates moments of frustration for customers. As a customer, it's not fun to unpack a Zalando parcel and realise that the products inside don't live up to your expectations.

We strive to help our customers have a more delightful unboxing experience; one where the products in the parcel live up to their expectations. The Product Experience team makes this happen by redefining how we present our products to customers. We build customer facing features on the product detail page to help 31 million customers find products they love and buy products they keep.

  • Translate the team's purpose and strategy into a tactical roadmap to deliver a superior product presentation compared to any competing online or brick-and-mortar alternatives
  • Understand deeply how customers buy fashion, what information they need, what emotions they feel, to make it fun and easy for them to make lasting purchases
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and teams throughout the product value chain, (including buying, article onboarding, in-house production of product images and descriptions, Product and Category Experience department) to deliver customer facing experiences on our apps and websites
  • Identify and align competing priorities and manage a portfolio of cross-company and team level initiatives, from early stage idea exchanges to hands-on delivery in close collaboration with Designers and Engineers
  • Provide direction, protection and order to the entire team as part of Product Experience leadership, working closely with the Engineering Lead
  • Help us master our product culture across Zalando by developing and hiring product talent and facilitating product processes that create remarkable impact for our customers at scale, ultimately building The Starting Point for Fashion.

  • An experienced (5+ years), customer obsessed and highly collaborative Principal Product Manager with a strong growth mindset and a track record in shipping customer impact at scale.
  • An analytical mind, able to break down complex problems with logical and easy to understand frameworks, paired with the ability to identify, retrieve, and process the needed data
  • Experience in defining and delivering on a product vision and strategy across multiple technical teams while managing competing priorities, resulting in proven positive customer impact
  • Solid experience in measuring the success of your products across large scale releases and continuous optimisation
  • Hands-on experience in building products for large user bases in large organisations is a strong plus
  • Experience in (fashion) e-commerce is a plus
