About the role

The Growth Businesses unit within Athleta is a critical part of driving our brand forward and is focused on growing the business through new channels, new markets, and new categories. Reporting into the GM, Growth Businesses, the Head of Wholesale is a critical member of this team. He/she is responsible for the leading the strategy, business development, and management of 3rd party strategic Wholesale partners across both brick and mortar and ecommerce channels. The Head of Wholesale will need to partner cross-functionally within the organization across functions including product, marketing, and experience to ensure successful execution and development of these strategic relationships.

What you'll do

  • Identify, develop and manage brand-right strategic Wholesale relationships for the Athleta brand across both brick + mortar and ecommerce
  • Lead, in conjunction with the Legal team, the negotiation, deal creation and structuring, and contract development for new accounts and re-negotiation for existing accounts. Facilitate due diligence reviews of selected Partners.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (finance / planning / merch / marketing / ecomm / GapTech) to lead and deliver pre and in-season execution across Partners, incl. regularly reporting
  • Lead, as necessary, cross functional teams to address any strategic or tactical needs of strategic Wholesale Partners
  • Ensure that all Partners adhere to contractual obligations and Gap Inc. standards

Who you are

  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred, and 5+ years of retail experience, ideally in Buyer/Merch or Account Management / Business Development roles
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team and interact with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated track record in managing projects from concept to execution, with ability to think strategically and proactively
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Detail oriented with strong follow through
