JOB PURPOSE

You will oversee the procurement of products and services for the business area by working closely with the Business Partners and Commercial Finance to identify opportunities to deliver the products and services at the best commercial value, this includes improvements in process and specification and commercial relationships

RESPONSIBILITIES

•To develop and deliver innovative and appropriate category strategy plans, informed by analysis of internal and external information as well as deep market and supplier expertise.
•To provide a level of business partnering to business stakeholders, offering Procurement expertise and delivering the outstanding level of customer service expected.
•To identify and lead proactive sourcing activity (high value, risk, complexity and strategic importance) within the Category Management team. Identifying and exploring all potential opportunities feeding into the Procurement opportunity pipeline.
•Owning the contract management for the assigned category, and supporting the stakeholder in administering the contract as required.
•Develop close working relationship with colleagues within the Leeds team to deliver sourcing activity.
•Be seen to be the expert in the assigned category, delivering insight through internal and external analysis as well as the development of deep category, commercial and market expertise.
•Creating compelling business cases for change, aligned and in collaboration with business stakeholders as well as the wider Procurement team.
•Follow Procurement best practice, policy and procedures, complying with agreed processes utilising the standard Procurement toolkit and ensuring consistency with Burberry principles and CSR policy.
•Support any other Procurement activities, as directed by the Line Manager.

PERSONAL PROFILE

•Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing with experience in IT contracts including, Hardware, Software, Telecoms, Global Networks and consultancy.
•CIPS qualified (preferred)
•Experience developing and implementing sourcing methodologies for category management
•SAP or other major ERP or sourcing service (e.g., Ariba) Indirect Spend Application experience required
•Proven experience in developing a best-in-class indirect spend management program
•Strong negotiation skills to achieve best TCO
•Emerging leadership talent with ability to motivate all levels of stakeholders by virtue of keen business acumen, excellent judgment, professional competence, credibility, flexibility, and personal integrity
•Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to inspire trust and confidence
•Proven success in managing, organizing, and/or completing multiple tasks and priorities
•History of managing and being managed to targeted results
•Proficiency with Word, Excel, Powerpoint required
