Job Details

As the Head of Pricing Analytics you will define, oversee and execute department-wide analytics initiatives, fostering a data-driven mindset within our commercial, product and tech teams. You will lead, grow and mentor a team of more than 10 pricing analysts, shaping the vision of the team. You will work closely with senior leaders to enable our business to leverage our data and make smarter pricing and promotion decisions. Also, you will work closely with our product and technology teams to accelerate the delivery of pricing products our customers love. Your work will impact >30 million of Zalando shoppers in our 17 markets, the top - and bottom line of our company, and of course the countless internal teams working with the insights and the analytics solutions your teams generate.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Use analytics, evidence and learnings to contribute to day-to-day pricing decisions as well as overarching pricing and forecasting strategies
  • Develop agile processes for fluid delivery of analytics and insights to impact the commercial, product and technology teams
  • Use modern analytics and machine learning techniques to provide in-depth, real-time and comprehensive insights for the organisation, managing a diverse groups of stakeholders across Zalando
  • Ensure reports are insightful and action-focused, making recommendations to improve pricing strategies (elasticity, competitive analysis, causal impact) and measure the impact (e.g. customer life-time value, return-on-invest)
  • Implement dashboards using Tableau, microstrategy or other appropriate analytics visualization tools
  • Expand organisational awareness and knowledge of Analytics through effective leadership.
  • Lead, mentor and empower your team of pricing analysts

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Leader in a highly technical environment with 5+ years of analytics experience preferably with exposure to A/B-testing and causal impact analysis methodologies
  • Understanding of statistical analysis & experience with packages such as R or Python. Previous experience with best-practice visualisation tools and methods (Tableau, Microstrategy, Mixpanel) prefered
  • Excellent business acumen skills ideally gained in an ecommerce environment or in consulting, experience in Pricing or similar field is a plus
  • Dynamic leader & strong team player (+3 years of leadership experience) - collaborates well with stakeholder to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various stakeholders.
  • Strong quantitative educational background demonstrated by a degree in economics, mathematics, physics, computer science, etc. Further education in these fields or an MBA will be highly valued
