We are looking for an experienced Senior Payments and Fraud Risk Manager to join our Community Experience Trust & Safety team and help in building Depop's Fraud Prevention capabilities. A strong analytical and investigative mindset and skills set will be paramount in this role, in protecting our customers and community. The successful candidate for this role will have a strong track record in fraud management either in digital/technology risk roles or within a general wider business risk context.

Ideally from a retailer or online marketplace consumer facing organisations, you will have strong knowledge of how to assess and mitigate fraud in a business environment, managing the day to day risk prevention activities as well as driving the strategic risk roadmap. You will have broad transferable knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating and monitoring compliance to national laws, regulations and guidance. This will be supported by extensive experience of how to create and implement change initiatives and manage relevant stakeholders.


  • Using large data sets to identify potential risks, discovering patterns of risks, performing comprehensive investigations of potential abuse, suggesting corrective actions
  • Presenting reports to multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership, and driving the implementation of corrective actions with the goal of minimising losses and driving profitable growth for the company
  • Responsibility to ensure that all payment methods offered on Depop are managed and operationalised with the right risk management safeguards
  • Working with cross functional teams within Depop on the product and business side to evaluate, identify and resolve payment and fraud risks
  • Apply industry insights to drive and build out our risk agenda  incorporating industry trends, outlook and emerging technology


  • Ideally 4+ years' experience working in an Operations, Project Management, Analytics, Product, or equivalent team
  • 2+ years of experience initiating and autonomously driving highly complex and cross-functional projects to completion
  • Experience communicating to and influencing a variety of audiences
  • Strategic thinker with analytical and creative problem-solving skills Analytical and problem solving experience
  • Previous experience providing payments solutions or mitigating fraud risk is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong cross-functional working capabilities, with effective stakeholder management at all levels
  • Able to deal with ambiguity - handling unclear or unpredictable situations
  • Driving change and champion new methods, digital systems and processes to improve performance
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under pressures applying sound project management skills
