The "Commercial Planning & Strategy" Team is part of a cross-functional unit that connects all commercial functions to execute global strategies on a country level. We are responsible for planning and monitoring the sales of Zalando and analyzing the impact of commercial levers on business. Our goal is to provide insights and recommendation for efficient commercial steering. As a Commercial Planning Manager for Poland and Czech Republic, you will ensure that we plan, steer, and manage the business of both markets in the healthiest and most sustainable way.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • You will work closely with the Central Europe Commercial Planning Lead, the Market Lead for Poland & Czech as well as the General Manager for Central Europe. You will be supporting them with your analytical skills on commercial and strategic topics, as the expert for your markets.
  • You will be the end-to-end responsible for coordinating and executing business case P&L planning, including necessary alignments between functions and markets. You will execute cross functional analysis to support trade-off decisions and projects on overarching topics with a direct impact on several parts of the local P&L
  • You will model demand forecast via aggregating local commercial activities and different functional input (e.g. Pricing, Marketing, Payment etc)
  • You will monitor the business performance in the market, point out and explain deviations, and derive recommendations to close performance gaps to be shared in the trading round.
  • You will take responsibility for short term steering measures definition and execution Poland and Czech to meet our financial objectives within the constraints of our logistic network

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • MBA or master's in economics, finance, engineering, statistics, management or comparable qualification. You have gained 4+ years of work experience in consumer-oriented commercial, financial or highly analytical role
  • You are a strategic commercial thinker with impressive analytical skills and critical mindset. You have strong technical skills in Excel. Knowledge in SQL is a strong plus
  • You have a good understanding of the main P&L lines in an ecommerce - retailing environment
  • You have good communication skills and can drive projects with different teams across the organization
  • You are business-fluent in English; knowledge of Polish or Czech will be considered a plus
